Waymo Launches First International Autonomous Vehicle Tests in Japan!

Waymo is sending 25 autonomous vehicles to Tokyo for its first international tests, partnering with taxi companies Nihon Kotsu and GO. The vehicles will initially be operated manually to gather mapping data in Japan's unique driving conditions. While Waymo explores local transportation integration, it has no immediate plans to launch a Tokyo-based robotaxi service.
