Snowflake Acquires Neeva to Revolutionize Cloud Data Management Search with AI

Cloud data management company Snowflake has acquired Neeva, a search startup that utilized generative AI for both consumer and enterprise search -- until it dropped the former to focus solely on the latter -- with the goal of implementing Neeva's tech into Snowflake's own search solutions. The deal has been rumored for weeks but was officially announced in a company blog post. Neeva was founded in 2019 by two former Google employees with extensive experience in search. In addition to solving privacy issues inherent in most search tools, its main innovation was that its generative AI could allow users to interact with the search tool in fundamental ways and alter their search queries. The acquisition of Neeva will bring a wealth of experience to Snowflake in building its AI search solutions on top of the cloud data management platform.
