ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT) has achieved a groundbreaking milestone by producing HBM3E memory chips for the first time. The chips, delivered to Alibaba's T-Head and Cambricon Technologies, are currently undergoing qualification testing. This production advances China's HBM timeline by a year. However, significant yield and specification challenges remain. CXMT's HBM3E is still a generation behind leading competitors. If successful, commercial availability could emerge as soon as 2027.
