OpenAI Introduces "Consistency" Models for Image Generation in a Single Step

OpenAI, the leading AI research institute, has introduced "consistency" models for image generation that can provide a complete source image in just one computation step. These models are being looked upon as the possible next generation use cases in AI image generation as they work efficiently and utilize relatively lesser computational power as compared to the diffusion models that have been used till now. Although the imagery generated by these models may not be mind-blowing yet, they generate results faster and more efficiently than other models. The technology has been tested and has shown promising results in various tasks like colorization, upscaling, sketch interpretation, and infilling with a single step.
