NHS Pilots AI for Faster Skin Cancer Discharges

NHS England's South East region is set to implement DERM, an AI tool from Skin Analytics, to manage skin cancer referrals without dermatologist intervention. Launching in all 18 local NHS trusts this autumn, DERM is the largest deployment of autonomous medical AI to date. It promises quicker discharges for benign cases, improving patient flow and freeing consultant hours. DERM boasts a 99.5% accuracy in ruling out skin cancer, leading to significant efficiency gains.
