Artificial intelligence co-writes new novel with journalist Stephen Marche

In a collaboration with three artificial intelligence programs, Stephen Marche has co-written a new novella called "Death of an Author," to be published as an audiobook and e-book next month. While Marche created the work's concept and structure, he used the programs ChatGPT, Sudowrite, and Cohere to develop the writing. The result is a vivid murder mystery, featuring an author who uses AI extensively and winds up dead. Marche sees AI programs as a tool for writers, but some worry that machines will put writers out of a job.
