UFO Hunters create open-source AI system to monitor the skies with Sky360
Developers frustrated with a lack of transparency in official accounts of UFO phenomena have created Sky360, an open-source citizen science project aimed at monitoring the skies 24/7 using a worldwide network of affordable monitoring stations. Sky360 utilises AI and machine learning to spot anomalous behavior and generate actionable data for analysis. The station's AllSkyCam records a wide-angle fish-eye view of the sky, while its pan-tilt-focus camera tracks and further analyses any motion detected. The volunteers behind the project hope the platform will establish "a huge, open, transparent network" allowing anyone to examine the data.
