Turkey Advances Digital Lira with 23 Projects in Live Testing Phase!

The Central Bank of Türkiye has green-lit 23 projects for the development of the digital Turkish lira, entering an innovative Phase 3 of testing. Selected from 85 applications, these projects span various categories including programmable payments and tokenization. Unlike typical central bank models, this approach relies heavily on private sector collaboration. The testing aims to interrogate unique programmability features and prepare the currency for future use.
