WeRide, Uber, and AVOMO have received Spain's first national permit for Level 4 autonomous vehicles, issued by the Directorate General of Traffic. The permit allows testing of WeRide's GXR vehicles in Greater Madrid, targeting high-demand areas. Commercial operations are anticipated by 2026.
