Salesforce to Invest $500M in Generative AI Startups, Prioritizing Ethical AI Technologies

Salesforce Ventures is growing its Generative AI Fund, which invests in startups developing “responsible generative AI,” from $250 million to $500 million. The company aims to accelerate the development of transformative AI solutions for the enterprise through the expansion. The Generative AI Fund has already invested in several firms on the frontier of generative AI tech, including Cohere, Anthropic, You.com, Hearth.AI, Humane, and Tribble. Salesforce aims to prioritize ethical AI technologies, such as go-to-market function automation platform Tribble, which recently partnered with Private AI for privacy-focused AI. Salesforce's accelerators and funds may become more critical to the company's bottom line as activist investors discourage large acquisitions.
