Poe API Launched, Enabling Developers to Build Chat-based Services on Open Source Language Models
/Quora has officially launched the Poe API, allowing developers to easily build chat-based services on open source language models. The API will enable a diverse range of LLM-based services from tutoring and coaching to socializing and games. Previously limited to a select few providers, Poe now allows developers to build bots on the platform with their own language models. By democratizing the ability to train and fine-tune LLMs, Quora hopes to limit concentration of power and enable people to select a model that aligns with their values. Supporting Poe is easy for developers with sample code and integrations built into Langchain and LlamaIndex.
