In a groundbreaking initiative, Google Cloud's Earth Species Project is exploring the use of generative AI to better understand and communicate with various animal species. By decoding, analyzing, and interpreting bioacoustic data from a range of species, including whales, dolphins, seals, crows, and various birds, the project aims to build tools that will aid animal behavior research and benefit conservation efforts. The organization is also working on developing an audio chatbot for animal communication, supported by models such as Google’s LaMDA and GPT-3.
