Public health experts warn of the potential negative health impacts of artificial intelligence (AI) on human health and healthcare. Writing in the journal BMJ Global Health, health professionals from different countries said while healthcare could benefit from AI, it can also "worsen social and health inequalities." The use of AI in healthcare could incorporate human biases and discrimination which can also reinforce social inequalities in access to healthcare. The experts further raised concerns about data privacy, AI systems' tendencies to make errors, and the need for effective regulation around AI.
