BuzzFeed Launches AI-Powered Recipe Generator "Botatouille"

Buzzfeed has launched an AI-powered culinary companion called Botatouille which will suggest recipes based on what a user already has in their refrigerator. The site has also added a chatbot feature that allows users to ask culinary questions while cooking. Buzzfeed has called Botatouille, its "first AI-powered culinary companion” and hopes that it will drive traffic to their platform after the closure of their news division. BuzzFeed had already told employees in January it had used AI to ‘enhance’ its content and quizzes. As CEO Jonah Peretti put it, BuzzFeed will “focus on making the Internet more fun" by including AI generated content.
