Amazon to Revamp Alexa with ChatGPT-like AI Technology

Through leaked documents, Amazon plans to upgrade Alexa with new AI chatbot technology that utilizes generalized large language models like the ones used in OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Google’s Bard. This will allow Alexa to be more conversational and proactive, as well as enable media recommendations, news delivery, and storytelling. The project comes after Amazon’s recent massive layoffs that reportedly affected nearly 2,000 people from the division working on the Alexa voice assistant and Amazon’s hardware.
