AI Together secures $20M in seed funding for open source generative AI models

AI startup Together has raised $20 million in a seed funding round led by Lux Capital, with participation from several other investors including SV Angel and Cadenza Ventures. The startup was founded to develop open source generative AI models and services to help organizations incorporate AI into their production applications. The funding will be used on R&D, infrastructure and product development. The platform aims to provide greater transparency, control and privacy to companies seeking open source generative models. Generative AI startups attracted outsize investor attention in Q1 2023, raising $1.7 billion.
