WhatsApp Alerts Users of Spyware Sneak Attack by SIO

WhatsApp has notified around 200 Italian users about a counterfeit app that contained government spyware, developed by surveillance firm SIO. The fake application, named Spyrtacus, was designed to mimic legitimate software. Users have been logged out and warned to uninstall it. WhatsApp plans legal action against SIO.
