Uber Eats has announced its plans to introduce a chatbot function to assist customers with finding restaurant deals and reordering favorite items. The AI-powered assistant will later expand its capabilities to meal planning, grocery shopping, and ordering ingredients. The chatbot, empowered by Google's PaLM 2 LLM and Uber's database of merchants, will allow users to make specific requests and receive tailored recommendations. This new feature aims to enhance user engagement and streamline the ordering process by eliminating the need to navigate menus. Other food delivery services like DoorDash and Instacart are also exploring AI integration.
