U.S. Launches Quantum Manufacturing Center to Boost Hardware Production

The U.S. Department of Commerce unveiled the Quantum Manufacturing Engineering Center (QMEC) with a $20 million federal investment to tackle critical quantum hardware production constraints. Established in partnership with SRI International, QMEC aims to advance the manufacturability of essential components, like cryostats and lasers, within three years, transforming quantum technology commercialization amid rising global competition.
