TikTok Tests AI Chatbot Called Tako for Content Discovery
TikTok has announced that it is testing Tako, an artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot, in select markets outside the US. The bot, which appears on the right-hand side of the TikTok interface, allows users to ask questions about videos they are watching. They can also seek recommendation for similar videos on a topic of their choice. Tako responds with suggested video names, authors, subjects and links. The chatbot should not be relied on for medical, legal or financial advice, and interactions are logged for safety purposes. If successful, Tako has the potential to become a search and content discovery tool in TikTok.
