At the UN Global Fraud Summit in Vienna, 11 major companies, including Google and Meta, signed the Industry Accord Against Online Scams and Fraud. This initiative aims to enhance collaboration in fighting AI-driven fraud by sharing threat intelligence. Google’s Global Signal Exchange will help analyze scam behaviors across platforms. Participating firms will deploy AI-driven tools to combat specific scams. Google.org has invested $15M to support the effort. Notably, Apple and TikTok have not joined the accord. The initiative highlights the urgent need for cross-platform defenses against impersonation and fraud.
