STMicroelectronics has unveiled the ST54M, a pioneering secure mobile chip that integrates a post-quantum cryptography hardware accelerator with NFC, a secure element, and an embedded SIM. This breakthrough aims to safeguard smartphones against future quantum computing threats. Mass production and EU certifications are slated for July. The proactive design anticipates long-term data protection amid impending quantum challenges.
