Meta Set to Launch AI Chips, Doubling Data Center Capacity

Meta plans to start producing its MTIA AI chips in September, aiming to double computing capacity in its data centers. This initiative forms part of a larger strategy to reduce reliance on Nvidia while enhancing custom silicon capabilities. The MTIA 300 chip is already in production, with further generative chips to follow. Meta has also secured partnerships with TSMC and Broadcom, underpinning its ambitious infrastructure plans.
