Meta Partners with Overview for Revolutionary Space Solar Power

Meta has signed an unprecedented agreement with Overview Energy to secure 1 gigawatt of power from satellites beaming sunlight as near-infrared light to Earth. This deal marks the first commercial capacity reservation in space-based solar energy. The orbital demonstration is slated for January 2028, with commercial delivery expected by 2030. If successful, this technology could transform renewable energy access for data centers.
