GlobalFoundries Unveils Quantum Tech Solutions Amid $2 Billion Federal Boost

GlobalFoundries launched its Quantum Technology Solutions, establishing a dedicated unit for quantum manufacturing. This coincided with a $2.013 billion federal incentive from the U.S. Department of Commerce for quantum hardware firms, including $375 million for GF. The initiative emphasizes manufacturing systems as key components in quantum computing. GF will support multiple qubit architectures utilizing advanced semiconductor technology. Notably, IBM also announced its own quantum foundry, Anderon, on the same day. Both companies are aligned with federal efforts to bolster domestic quantum hardware production.
