China has launched the RoBoLeague, its inaugural autonomous humanoid robot football league, marking a significant advancement in AI and robotics. The league opened in Beijing with a 3-on-3 match won by Tsinghua University. The robot players, designed by Booster Robotics, operate independently, showcasing impressive AI abilities. Despite challenges like tripping and object tracking, improvements are evident. China aims to leverage competitive robot sports to enhance humanoid technology and secure a market projected at 870 billion yuan by 2035.
