Authors Sue Anthropic for Training AI with Pirated Books
A group of authors has filed a lawsuit against Anthropic, accusing the company of training its AI models on pirated ebooks in the Books3 dataset. The authors claim Anthropic built a lucrative business by stealing copyrighted content from authors like Stephen King and Michael Pollan. They are seeking damages and a court order to prevent the company from using copyrighted material in the future. Anthropic has not yet responded to the allegations.
