Altilium Secures £18.5 Million for UK's First EV Battery Refinery

Altilium, a UK clean tech firm, has received £18.5 million from the DRIVE35 Scale-Up Fund to build ACT3, the first commercial refinery for recycling EV batteries in Plymouth. The facility will process 24,000 batteries annually with up to 74% lower carbon emissions compared to mined materials, creating 70 jobs. A second grant funds a project with JLR to produce domestically recycled EV battery cells.
