Waymo and Geely's Robotaxi Project Gains Momentum as Zeekr Hires Logistics Manager in the US
Nearly two years after the collaboration between Waymo and Geely to develop robotaxis for the US market, concrete progress is being made. Zeekr, the electric car brand under Geely, is now hiring a logistics manager for the Waymo project. Zeekr will be sharing its first vehicles for testing with Waymo by the end of the year. The Waymo-Zeekr robotaxi, announced in December 2021, is steadily moving forward despite challenging times. Zeekr plans to increase its headcount in the US to around 8-10 people this year and 25 people next year.
