Blockchain Capital, a venture firm specializing in blockchain technology, has invested $115 million in Series C funding for Worldcoin, a company aiming to establish a global identity, currency, and payment platform using biometrics through orb-based eye scanning. Led by OpenAI's CEO Sam Altman, Worldcoin has raised a total of $240 million in funding and aims to reach a network of provably unique human users. Blockchain Capital General Partner Spencer Bogart shared his confidence in Worldcoin's potential to revolutionize distinguishing humans from bots and to fund new applications and services that have never existed before. The investment includes prior backers, such as Andreessen Horowitz, Bain Capital Crypto, and Distributed Global.
